In 1993 Joe Wolken, while working in the IBM AS/400 document imaging software organization, saw a need for an independent company with strong technical expertise that could respond quickly with customer focused solutions. Complex projects often required development of custom software components or the integration of IBM and non-IBM products.
With this in mind he formed OAS Corp. in the Spring of 1993. The goal then, as it is now, is to provide customized solutions built on core technical hardware and software competencies. These included: IBM iSeries and AS/400, PCs, Electronic Content Management including Document Imaging, and COLD.
Over the years OAS Corp. has worked on many significant projects including:
- Performing IBM Content Manager and CM OnDemand migrations and data extracts, including file format conversions as required
- Performing IBM ImagePlus, WAF, Visual Info, and Content Manager version and release upgrades
- Performing IBM CM OnDemand for iSeries (R/DARS, SFA, Common Server) version and release upgrades
- Creating custom optical to optical and optical to disk utilities for IBM Content Manager and OnDemand
- Designing and developing significant image integration projects using the Content Manager and CM OnDemand APIs
- Developing the original Kofax Capture Release to IBM OnDemand for iSeries (R/DARS) AnyStore
- Implementing over a dozen systems that integrate Kofax Capture document scanning with IBM Content Manager for iSeries or CM OnDemand for iSeries
- Developing and marketing NetConnect for OnDemand/400 which enables web browser access to OnDemand/400 Spool file and AnyStore archives
Our intent is to stay on the leading edge in the use of IBM's Content Manager for iSeries and Content Manager OnDemand for iSeries, especially with regards to integration with Kofax Capture and Kofax Advanced Forms technology.
